Directions for Using Color Magic Stains
From the Eastman Corporation, Manufacturers of Color Magic
To speed up the drying process and enhance the curing of the UV sealant and
color stains, blow warm air from a hair dryer on the newly applied sealant or
color; or place in a warm (200 degrees F) oven for 45 minutes.
Shake the bottle gently before using. The opaque, gold, silver and glitter
stains settle; they contain small metal ball in the bottom which help to
thoroughly mix the liquid.
Caution: Do not shake a partially filled bottle as vigorously as you would a
full one. Shake cautiously!
 | Mixing: All transparent and opaque stains can be mixed together to
create other color variations. For instance, white mixed with any
transparent will create a pastel. Turn the Gold (OP-Gold) and Silver
(OP-Silver) upside down for 20 minuets before using to 'unsettle' the
liquid. These two colors can be very hard to mix thoroughly.
 | Drying Time: Although the stains appear to be dry to the touch
within 5 to 10 minutes, let them dry to a hard finish overnight. Glitter
coats take approximately 15 to 20 minutes to dry. Because of varying
humidity and temperature, Color Magic drying times may vary, Color Magic has
its own sheen, and polishing is unnecessary.
 | UV Sealant (bottle or spray): The UV Sealant is a hardening
protective coat that also inhibits fading from sunlight. Apply UV sealant
after the stain application has dried for 24 hours, and allow the UV Sealant
to dry for at least another 24 hours.
 | Gold & Silver: Due to the metallic composition of the gold and
silver stain, the brush may be hard when you open the bottle. Soften by
cleaning with a small amount of solvent. Once applied, gold or silver will
appear muddy, however, once they have dried, they will become shiny. For
best results when using gold and silver or opaque stains, turn the bottles
upside down for about 30 minutes, and then shake gently.
 | Glitter Coats: The three glitter coats are shimmering accent stains
that can be used alone or applied over any color.
 | Cleaning: Do not use harsh chemicals such as ammonia or glass
cleaners! Do not put into dishwasher! Clean with solution of vinegar and
water (no soap).
 | Storing: Store Color Magic tightly capped in a cool, dry place.
 | Solvent: Denatured Alcohol can be used for cleaning hands or
airbrushes. Use Solvent/Thinner to remove unwanted stain from glass, metal,
or hands.
